THE 90 SECOND GUIDE TO THE AKINA (HARUNA) START LINE
What is it?
It barely needs an introduction, but this place is the real life basis of the start line of the Akina downhill from Initial D
Why should you go?
The start line in the anime is almost an exact replica of the location in real life, including the parking areas and water tower. It's also a great place for car spotting on weekends, AND it's the literal start of the Akina downhill. Great place to practice your gutter driving
How do you get there?
There are a few ways to get here. Assuming you are coming from Tokyo, the easiest way is to take a Shinkansen to Takasaki station. From here, pick up a hire car from Toyota car rental (they're just out front, book ahead) or your own choice of car rental agency. The Google maps link is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CZNRur94AYowXhJe9
It's a very easy drive
How much is it?
The location itself is free, but the Shinkansen is roughly $80aud and the hire car roughly $50aud including fuel. If you have a JR pass the Shinkansen is included
